This reading comprehension strategies unit is designed to teach students how to use make predictions about fiction and nonfiction texts. The lessons use real literature, and you can select books from a list of many different suggestions.
Through mini-lessons that gradually release responsibility, your students will learn to:
- Make logical predictions before, during, and after reading
- Justify their predictions with evidence from the text, illustrations, and schema
- Make predictions based upon the type of text (fiction / nonfiction)
